Deployment Day

I guess that I should be grateful (and I am) that this is the first time that Bryan has been deployed to a hostile area.  Bryan joined the Marines in January of 1999, and has been to Okinawa, Egypt, North Carolina, Wyoming (I know that they are both in the US) and a Float.  He has never (at least in my mind) been in "danger". 

For the past three years Bryan and his family have been in Cheyenne, Wyoming as he served as a recruiter for the Marine Corps.  I have visited the past two July's and we would all go to Frontier days and have a great time!!!  So at the beginning of February my parents flew up to Cheyenne and they all started the drive down to Texas for a visit before moving back out to California.  The family settled back into the California lifestyle, and then in March welcomed Makayla Kali.

Bryan had said that he would be deploying but we didn't know the actual date, the deployment date was fluctuating from late September to early October.  The date was finally set, October 4, 2010.  My parents loaded up to drive out to visit and see Bryan off and then planned to stay and visit with Anastasia and the kids before driving back home.  Bryan has 7 months in Afghanistan and then 14 months home and then another 7 months in Afghanistan.  I will keep saying an extra prayer for him and all of his fellow Marines until they come home safely!
